Low carb, keto friendly baklava bars with caramel sauce (toffee), sugar free, gluten free, with a dairy free version and also diabetic friendly!

I'm sure these are the most delicious keto bars you've ever tasted!


The aroma and flavor reminiscent Greek baklava and that's why I named those "baklava bars".


The coating of course makes the difference as it gives the caramelized texture that suits these bars.


Cinnamon and cloves passed incredibly well with walnuts but you could skip those if you want a strong milk caramel flavor.


You can of course use almonds instead of walnuts but I would recommend everyone to try the recipe as it is.


Try to show restraint and not eat these bars all in one day!

Keto Toffee - Baklava Bars


Servings 14

• Ingredients for the crust:


150 g / Almond flour


45 g / Coconut flour


1 tsp / Cinnamon


60 g / Erythritol-stevia blend or any other natural 1:1 sweetener


1,5 tsp / Baking powder


1/4 tsp / Salt


80 ml / Bio heavy cream*


30 g / Melted butter*


1 / Whole egg


1 / Egg yolk

• Coating ingredients:



100 g / Coarsely chopped walnuts


1/3 tsp / Powdered cloves (spice)


2 - 3 tbsp / Heavy cream*

• Instructions:


1 Prepare the caramel sauce according to the instructions of the recipe.


2 Preheat the oven at 175°C (conventional).


3 Prepare a 20X25 cm baking pan with parchment paper.


4 To make the crust mix the dry ingredients and then add the rest and knead lightly to combine.


5 Wet your hands lightly and spread the dough on the prepared baking pan.


6 Make several holes on the surface of the crust and bake for 15 minutes.


• For the overlay:


1 Mix the coarsely chopped walnuts with the caramel sauce, cloves and heavy cream.

If the caramel sauce is cold and firm, it must be heated for a while.


2 Spread the walnut mixture on the base and bake again for another 20 minutes.


3 After baking, let the bars cool well.

It's better is to place in the fridge for 1 day.


4 Divide into 14 bars.


*Note:

• Heavy cream can be replaced with coconut cream.

• Butter (for the crust) can be replaced with coconut oil.


• Serve and enjoy!



Store in the fridge for 1 week in a well-closed container.
